Half day visit Kitchener Islands, Elephantine

Elephantine Island is situated across from Aswan city on the Nile, accessible by a scenic felucca ride. Once on the island, you’ll explore three ancient Egyptian temples, as well as ruins from the Greek and Roman periods. You'll also see the remains of a Jewish temple and some Islamic-era ruins.

Next, we visit the Botanical Garden located just behind Elephantine Island. The island was once settled by the Nubians, who named it Jet Narty. In 1899, Lord Kitchener took control of the island as a rest stop for his campaign, calling it the "Lord's House." After his death, the island was handed over to the Ministry of Agriculture.

The island is home to a rich variety of plants imported from all over the world. There are four entrances: one to the north, one to the south, one in the middle, and a fourth reserved for the island's workers.
