3. Colossi of Memnon Overview: On the way back, pause at the Colossi of Memnon, two towering statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III. Once standing at the entrance of his grand mortuary temple—now mostly in ruins—these monumental figures have withstood the test of time. Highlights: Despite centuries of weathering, the statues remain an iconic symbol of ancient Egyptian artistry and resilience. The Colossi of Memnon are a popular stop for visitors, offering a glimpse into the grandeur of Egypt’s past.
